Marc-Olivier Dupin comes from a family of musicians and started learning the violin with his father from his early childhood. After his high scool degree, he entered the Paris Conservatoire where he furthured his studies with many teachers including Serge Collot's viola class. He won many prizes in viola, composing, analysis, orchestration and conducting.
His professional career got him to take many institutionnal responsibilites as the Head Executor of the Paris Conservatoire (1993-2000), the Orchestre national d’Ile de France (2002/2008) but also France Musique and the Music Departement at Radio France (2008/2011). From 2013 to 2016, he has been running Pôle Sup’93 and the Ile-de-France Cefedem.
In addition, he regularly works as a composer for multidisciplinary works in the world of opera, ballet, theatre and cinema. He also is very involved in projects for the youth. Among his last creations : Robert le cochon et les Kidnappeurs (Robert the Pig and the Kidnappers - Opéra Comique June 2014), Quelle fureur vous prend ? Cantate 1914/1918 (What madness has gotten into you ? Cantate 1914/1918 - Radio France order in April 2014), Par ici les enfants (Here come the children - Musical Story for children and adults choirs and orchestra - Saint-Quentin en Yvelines June 2014).
Marc-Olivier Dupin has been giving analysis classes to chamber music and string quartets professionals with ProQuartet since 2014.
