Born in 1979, François Meïmoun studies at the Paris Conservatoire with Michael Levinas, at the Sorbonne-Paris IV University and at EHESS (Ecole des Hautes Etudes) under the direction of Alain Poirier. Its works are played by Sébastien Vichard, Alain Billard, Christophe Desjardins, Quatuor Ardeo, Quatuor Voce, Ensemble Accroche-Note, Ensemble Court-Circuit... and are programmed in French and International Festivals (Festival d’Aix en Provence, ProQuartet, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Centre Beaubourg, Festival Zeitkunst in Berlin, Festival Belo Horizonte in Brazil...).
François Meïmoun was a resident at the Abbaye de La Prée and at the Chaillol festival for which he composed Tara, first piece of its Antonin Artaud portrait. In 2013, he finished its 3rd Quartet and in 2014 its Concerto for viola and orchestra for Christophe Desjardins and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra. Its Quatuor III is created in November 2014 by the Ardeo Quartet at Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, played after its transcription of the Golderg Variations for string quartet. His works are edited at Aedam musicae, Artchipel & Durand-Universal.
