The Gyldfeldt Quartet was founded in the spring of 2016. The ensemble is much promoted by Prof. Frank Reinecke (Vogler Quartet) and Günter Pichler (formerly Alban Berg Quartet). 
The quartet has visited a number of renowned masterclasses such as the “International Chamber Music Campus”of Jeunesses Musicales Germany, “ProQuartet” in Paris or the "Accademia Musicale Chigiana" and has been coached by international instructors like Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet), Eberhard Feltz, Norman Fischer (Concord String Quartet), Yves Sandos (Amaryllis Quartet), Dirk Mommerz (Fauré Quartet) as well as members of the Vogler Quartet. The Quartet have been part of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Scholarship since 2017.
The quartet has had concerts both in Germany and abroad. They were in Sweden (Dalarna), Zürich (Feusisberg), Paris, Siena/Italy and played at different famed festivals like “Musiksommer am Zürichsee” in association with the “Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” – and the “Kurt Weill Fest” in Dessau.
In September 2017 the Gyldfeldt Quartett also gave a concert in the Duncan Recital Hall in Houston/Texas during the exchange program between the music colleges of Leipzig and Houston.

From October 2018 on, the young string quartet is part of the famous String Quartet Class of Günter Pichler at the Escuela de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, thanks to a scholarship of the "Albéniz Foundation".
