Born in Lille in 1954, Philippe Mouchon began his musical studies at the age of 8 years. In 1975, he won the viola and chamber music awards at the CRR Lille in Michèle Moulin's class. Admitted in the class of Colette Lequien at CNSMD in Paris, it was in 1980 that he obtained his viola award and in 1981 his chamber music prize in the class of Geneviève Joy. Selected by Yuri Basmet, international soloist and professor at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Philippe Mouchon perfects and enriches his musical knowledge.

Co-soloist at the Northern Opera, he was then appointed professor at CRR Lille in 1981. He founded the string quartet in Lille. In 1992, he taught viola at CRD Nîmes and participated in many concerts with the Orchestras of Montpellier, Avignon and Marseille. He also performs with the Soloists of Moscow. Philippe Mouchon is the String Trio Ad'Hélios and the duo The @crobaltistes with Paul Colin viola teacher in Nîmes. He energizes his class by regularly leading his students to the higher schools of Paris, Lyon and abroad. He is currently professor at the CRR du grand Avignon and founder of the string trio Alphéa.
