Engaged in an innovative artistic approach, the Leonis Quartet's musicians carry the rich heritage of the string quartet into the world of theater, dance, literature, electronic music, contemporary creation with daring projects aimed at reaching and sensitize new audiences.

After studies in the biggest schools (CNSM of Paris and Lyon, High School of Music of Geneva, Yale Summer Academy) marked by meetings with the masters of the discipline (Quatuors Ysaye, Berg, Hagen, Tokyo, Fine Arts) , the Leonis Quartet is the winner of many international competitions, he won the 3rd prize of the Geneva International Competition in 2006.

From 2008 to 2013, the Leonis Quartet is in residence at the National Theater of the Odeon where he collaborates with the playwright and director Olivier Py for the creation of shows. At this period is born the desire to be met different forms of arts.

The Leonis Quartet takes advantage of its meeting with the director Manu Kroupit at MCN Nevers to create "Eclisse Totale" (2012). This show is the first in which the Quartet is alone on stage, playing both the roles of musicians, dancers and actors. It has been given fifty times in France and abroad.

For the 4th season, the Leonis Quartet is in residence at the Theater Aquarium / Cartoucherie de Vincennes, directed by François Rancillac. He has created a season of chamber music concerts.

Throughout his encounters, the Quartet has managed to mix classical music with reading, dance, video, sports and, of course, theater.

The association "Friends of the Leonis Quartet" has set up its office in the Nièvre to give the Leonis Quartet a long-lasting rooting and a national and international influence around the city of Nevers. The ensemble is today a key player in the musical life of the Nivernais.
