For more than 23 years, the Rencontres musicales ProQuartet en Seine-et-Marne has been a regular annual event in the south of the department, offering chamber music concerts in heritage sites, with the participation of young talents of today and tomorrow.
For the 24th edition of the festival, the programme proposed by ProQuartet - Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre is more than ever dedicated to the inhabitants and families of the department, with the will to decompartmentalise chamber music to make it accessible to everyone everywhere.
For the first time in the festival's history, all concerts and tours are offered free of charge: all you need to do to participate is make a reservation!
But above all, the festival innovates by offering you several concerts in new forms, to offer you new listening experiences in the heart of nature and emblematic places of the department.
For the more sporty among us, the brilliant Quatuor Magenta and Trio Aralia will be on hand on Sunday 11 June for a bike ride around Nemours, a ride whose stops will be excuses to enjoy concerts in the heart of the natural, cultural and historical heritage of Seine-et-Marne (Larchant marshes, Villiers-sous-Grez church, Nemours prehistory museum). All the concerts will of course be accessible off the bicycle circuit...
For young and old children, floating concerts are proposed on Sunday 18 June by the promising Wassily Quartet: make yourself comfortable on the water's edge and open your ears wide when the musical barge arrives!
More traditional in form, the concerts given on Saturday 10 and 17 June in the churches of Bois-le-Roi and Montigny-sur-Loing by the daring Akilone Quartet and Agate Quartet are nonetheless highlights of the festival, to which you are invited in large numbers.
The Rencontres musicales en Seine-et-Marne have never been so well named: the whole team is looking forward to seeing you there.
See you soon!
