School workshops in Paris
During the awareness workshops in Parisian schools, children and professional musicians have the opportunity to interact. Presenting string instruments, explaining and illustrating the quartet repertoire in a context, music becomes a dynamic and living element. This journey also helps teachers developing musical education actions in their class, alongside with the musicians' musical interventions.
ProQuartet has been working with the Education Nationale and Réseaux Réussite Scolaire of North and East Paris. The association offers primary and secondary school programs, the main theme being the discovery of chamber music and string quartet through many creative activities.
Chamber music activities in Seine-Saint-Denis
Since 2001, Seine-Saint-Denis Music conservatoires work along with ProQuartet on an inter-conservatoire chamber music journey for students. Young musicians study the classical repertoire with the Voce Quartet, and also experiment contemporary music - working on a young composer's piece, commissioned by ProQuartet each year.
This project has been supported by the Conseil Départemental de Seine-Saint-Denis from the begining, an essential ally of ProQuartet's chamber music actions towards these young students.
Around the ProQuartet Seine-et-Marne Festival
Since 1999, there has been a partnership with the Seine-et-Marne Département around musicians participating to the Festival. Before the concerts, musicians meet with young people during workshops. This privileged interaction with the classical music world becomes an introduction to the concert. This project plays a part in the discovery of string quartets and their repertoire by a young and inexpert audience.
Quatuor Leonis Residency at Blanc-Mesnil Conservatoire
For the 2016-2017 season, ProQuartet associates with the Quatuor Leonis to develop a creation residency around classical music, football, dance and video in the Blanc-Mesnil Conservatoire. The Quatuor Leonis will lead education workshops for the Conservatoire's musicians and dancers, will organise meetings between artists and sportsmen, will give concerts and work on the creation of a new show at the Théâtre 9.
