Interpretation courses for string quartet and chamber music ensembles

ProQuartet has been providing professional training and support programmes forFrench and international string quartets and  constituted chamber music ensembles since 1987. The programme consists of interpretation courses on the repertoire from the classical period to the 21stcentury given by some of the world's foremost musicians. Courses take place in Paris and Lyon, with academies elsewhere in different regions of France, ending with one or several concerts. In addition, the programme includes workshops (physical and mental preparation), concerts in France and abroad, outreach activities, residencies.

Programme in partnership with : Conservatoires Nationaux Supérieurs de Musique et de Danse Paris and Lyon, Philharmonie de Paris, Goethe-Institut Paris, Ferme de Villefavard en Limousin, Festival de Quatuors du Luberon, ôkhra, conservatoire des ocres et de la couleur, Château de Compiègne, Abbaye de Royaumont.

Training sessions

Paris sessions

Intended for : chamber music ensembles, with or without piano
Aims : meeting with string quartet and chamber music masters, in-depth work on the repertoire, preparation for international competitions, for concerts, for recordings
Venue : Cité internationale des arts, Paris 4
Tuition fee : include practice rooms upon request, according to availabilities
At the musicians' expenses: accommodation, transportation and meals

A master class and a closing concert take place during each session

Complemetary modules can be proposed during sessions

Aims : in-depth work on the classical and XXth century repertoires
Venue : Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMDL)
At the musicians' expenses: accommodation, transportation and meals

Additional modules

Intended for : chamber music ensembles participating in the training program and ProQuartet residents
Aims : to experiment additional skills to interpretation courses, which are essential to the musicians’  career and well-being
Teaching : modules proposed in parallel with certain training session and academies, and/or proposed to the ProQuartet residents
Tuition fee : 120€ per musician (2-hour workshops) - grant available
